Guest Comments: “Excellent B&B for Camp Visiting Day” https://glynnhouse.com/guest-comments Guests who book their return visit before leaving the property leave absolute no doubt in our minds – ‘they thoroughly enjoyed their stay’. Over one dozen summer camps are easily accessible from the Inn. Each summer, parents and grandparents use the Inn as a base for visiting children and grandchildren. Many also take the opportunity to explore the local area. We’re delighted the reviewer and her husband plan to return and take allocate more time to enjoy spectacular New Hampshire. The review can be segmented into two major sections. Our breakfasts delivered another ‘home run’. Freshly good food, quality ingredients, lots of delicious choices and an elegant Victorian dining room. The reviewer and her husband stayed in the Adams Deluxe Suite – a guest favorite. The suite is filled with quality furnishings and all the contemporary amenities discerning travelers expect. It’s located in our Carriage House – another 1895 structure situated behind our main building. We look forward to seeing the reviewer and her husband again next year.

“Glenn, Ingrid & Pam were the perfect hosts for our weekend trip to NH to visit our son at sleep away camp (Camp Winaukee). Upon arrival, Glenn gave us the rundown on house rules, amenities (afternoon wine & cheese, breakfast options, DVD lending library, complimentary cold sodas, coffee & tea stations, etc.).

Glenn then escorted us to our room, the Adams Suite, which is located on the second floor of The Carriage House behind the main building. While in the room, he gave us additional information on using the whirlpool bathtub (and how NOT to flood the downstairs!) and how to use the DirecTV. There is a binder in each room that gives the history of the Inn (Glenn supplemented as he got us situated) as well as information and recommendations local activities, restaurants, etc. The room itself was large for a B&B and well appointed with nice linens (queen size bed), plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion/soap, and a well functioning hairdryer. AC is on a central system for the entire house, but was set at 72 and we had no issues with room temperature. We especially enjoyed the two recliners set at the end of the bed in front of the TV. Perfect way to unwind before heading to bed. In the mornings, we made coffee/tea and sat in wicker rockers on the front porch of The Carriage House enjoying the peace. The ONLY improvement I would suggest making is that the bed frame is very noisy/squeaky (although the mattress and pillows were very comfy). Even just shifting positions during the night (while sleeping, get your mind out of the gutter!) would cause the bed to squeak loud enough to wake me up.

Moving from the “bed” and onto the “breakfast”… It was delicious. We had hot breakfast both mornings. There are both savory and sweet items to choose from on the menu. Breakfast is prepared by Pam/Ingrid and served by Glenn. Fresh fruit is given to each guest along with water/coffee/tea/selection of juices. Following the fruit is delivery of a warm, just from the oven, muffin. On Saturday, they had white chocolate raspberry. On Sunday, it was banana chocolate chip. Both were excellent, but the raspberry was the winner. On Saturday, I had “Poached Pesto” (toasted Parmesan French bread topped with poached egg and homemade pesto sauce – there were two) and on Sunday I had the Cinnamon Belgian Waffle with vanilla icing “syrup”. I’m not sure which I liked better… you can’t go wrong with either. Canadian bacon was offered on Saturday, while regular bacon was offered on Sunday (Sunday’s bacon was perfectly crisp and I probably should have asked for more!). The breakfast portions are enough to satisfy but not sit heavy.

The Inn itself is located in Ashland, NH, about a 35-40 minute drive to camp. Before checking out, we booked for next year’s visiting day and plan to spend less time in Boston (where we flew in & out of) and more time exploring New Hampshire. With Glenn’s suggestions, you can’t go wrong. See you next summer, Glenn, Ingrid & Pam!”
