The four itineraries provided are designed to help visitors plan their visit.

Itinerary for 2, 3 or 4 days

Day 1: Arrival at The Glynn House Inn
The Inn is 1 hour from Manchester, 2 hours from Boston, 3 hours from Montreal & Providence, 4 hours from Hartford and 5 hours from New York.  The Inn is situated on a quiet residential street and located in the heart of NH’s spectacular lakes & mountains. After arrival, relax on one of our wrap-around Victorian porches. Have a pot of tea or freshly brewed coffee and a plate of delicious homemade cookies.  Take a walk around the grounds, wander into the quaint town of Ashland or simply relax.

Day 2: Owls Nest Golf Course
Coffee, tea or hot chocolate is served adjacent to your room by 7.30 a.m. Breakfast is served at individual tables in the tranquility of our gracious dining room. After breakfast, head for the award-winning, championship Owls Nest Golf Course. Owl’s Nest can be divided into three sections.  The six holes surrounding the clubhouse feature links-style golf. Perimeter mounding on the sides of the fairways bring stray drives back to the short grass. Six holes meander “through the fields” and around our four-acre spring-fed pond. Accuracy is important through this section. If your shots are not on line, they will find a watery resting place! The final six holes, set atop “Sunset Hill,” and are among the best you will experience anywhere.
Enjoy the stunning mountain views. After the game, stop and enjoy a delightful lunch at the  19th hole Sunset Room.

Day 3: Fish Lake Winnipesaukee
Looking for a relaxing day on the water?  Book a trip with the Fish Lake Winni Charter fleet and you will not be disappointed!  Whether your looking to sit back and reel in some fish or for a full hands on fishing experience, your requirements will be met. Fishing spectacular Lake Winnipesaukee aboard is a terrific experience, and your guide, with over 25 years experience, is one of the best. Charter includes boat, equipment, lunch and guide.

Day 4: Welch Dickey Loop Trail & Zip-Line Adventure Tour
The Welch Dickey Loop hike is the only major route up the two mountains. It is very popular for it’s vast number of open ledges and large number of panoramic views over Waterville Valley. It usually takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete the 4.5 mile circuit.  After your hike, head for Lincoln and stop for a casual lunch the Gypsy Café. Schedule an afternoon Zip-Line Adventure at Alpine Adventures. You’ll experience a true “treetop” canopy tour, the first in New England. You’ll zip on 6 separate zip-lines ranging from 150 to 1,000 feet long and traverse 3 suspension bridges, including a 60′ high, 75′ long Burma bridge spanning “Barron Gorge” and the new suspended Log Bridge. The zips and obstacles get progressively faster and longer, ending with the famous Zip Seven, a 40 mph optional free-fall. Return to the Inn along scenic NH Route 3, stop at five covered bridges,  enjoy the Spring scenery;

You’ll be enchanted by the spectacular vistas and wildlife encountered at every turn.  Stop for lunch at the historic Corner House Inn, which is located in a quintessential NH village, Center Sandwich. After lunch, go for a stroll and peek into one of the local art galleries, antique shops or take a step back in time and visit the general store. Before returning to the Inn, stop at the Old Bridle Path trailhead. A gentle 45-minute walk will reward visitors of spectacular views of Squam Lake and surrounding mountains.  Head back to the Inn and relax.

  • Approximate driving time to Squam Lake is 5 minutes, approximate driving time from Natural Science Center to Center Sandwich 12 minutes.

Day 3: Cog Railway
The 3-hour ride on the Cog Railway provides an unforgettable experience. You’ll enjoy magnificent scenery and marvel at the excitement of a real steam locomotive in action. You’ll climb the tallest mountain in the Northeast and have views, on a clear day, that cover four states, the province of Quebec and the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll return to the Inn along the Kancamagus National Scenic Byway. It’s one of the most attractive routes in New Hampshire. The covered bridges, waterfalls and scenic vistas will delight photographers.

Day 4: Franconia Notch: Flume Gorge, Aerial Tramway & Echo Lake
Franconia Notch State Park is a spectacular mountain pass located in the heart of the White Mountains. Stop and take a walk through the renowned Flume Gorge. Ride the exciting Cannon Aerial Tramway at Cannon Mountain, and visit the NH Ski Museum. Take time for a swim at Echo Lake or rent a bike and ride on the Recreation Trail. Enjoy the magnificent NH countryside!

Day 5: Paddle the Pemi
You’ll use the Ski Fanatics ‘Pemi River Shuttle’ to reach the start of your Pemi River Adventure *. Take a 10-mile leisurely float down the Pemigewasset River on easy Class I water. Enjoy the tranquil, scenic rural vistas. Let The Glynn House prepare a delicious picnic lunch and have a good bottle of wine too. What a great way to spend a warm summer day.

Day 6: Scenic Lakes & Canterbury Shaker Village
After breakfast, travel south along scenic NH country lanes viewing lakes and rural farms that provide picture postcard views. Canterbury Shaker Village is a national historic landmark and museum. There are 25 restored buildings, gardens, fields, ponds and forests. Known for its tranquil beauty, the village offers tours, hiking trails, unique shopping and delicious food.

  • Approximate driving time to Canterbury Shaker Village 45 minutes along country roads.

Day 3: Hobo Railway Foliage Train  & Franconia Notch
This morning, come aboard the Hobo Railroad and enjoy an 80 minute round trip, Fall Foliage Season Train Excursion. Travel through a natural woodsy setting along the banks of the beautiful Pemigewasset River.

This afternoon, explore Franconia Notch State Park, a spectacular mountain pass located in the heart of the White Mountains. Stop and take a walk through the renowned Flume Gorge and enjoy the spectacular fall colors. Ride the exciting Cannon Aerial Tramway at Cannon Mountain, and visit the NH Ski Museum. Day 4: Mount Washington & Kancamagus Scenic Byway
The drive north from Ashland to the entrance to the Kancamagus National Scenic Byway passes along the beautiful Pemigewasset River. Stop at the five covered bridges along the route and take photos with a multicolored backdrop. Drive east along one of America’s most attractive roads. The waterfalls and scenic autumn vistas will delight photographers. Turn onto NH Route 16 and drive north through Pinkham Notch until reaching the entrance to the Mount Washington Toll Road. As you climb the tallest mountain in the northeast, you’ll enjoy magnificent fall scenery. On your return to the Inn stop for tea at the historic Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods.

Day 5: Lake Winnipesaukee & Castle of the Clouds
Drive to Weirs Beach and board the historic M.S. Mount Washington for a 2.5 hour cruise around spectacular Lake Winnipesaukee. Stop for lunch in Wolfeboro before continuing north along scenic NH Route 109 before stopping at the magnificent Castle of the Clouds (Lucknow Estate).  Explore the rooms and delightful grounds.

  • Approximate driving time to Weirs Beach 20 minutes; driving time from Weirs Beach to Wolfeboro; return journey via Castle of the Clouds 60 minutes

After arrival, relax in front of the fireplace in your elegant guest room or have a soak in your double whirlpool bath. Have a pot of tea or freshly brewed coffee and a plate of delicious homemade cookies.

Day 2: Alpine Skiing: Cannon Mountain
Coffee, tea or hot chocolate is served adjacent to your room by 7.30 a.m. Breakfast is served at individual tables in the tranquility of our gracious dining room.  After breakfast, it’s time to head to Cannon Mountain, where you’ll experience one of the most exciting mountains in New England. Skiers and riders enjoy 72 trails, 10 lifts and 264 acres of varied terrain that will suit all ability levels.

Day 3: Snowmobiling Adventure & Snowshoeing
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy one of New England’s most exciting winter recreation activities. You’ll explore spectacular Franconia Notch on a 2-hour Sled Ventures guided snowmobile tour.  Stop for a delicious lunch at the Gypsy Café. Head for the Lincoln Woods Trail after lunch. Snowshoeing along the spectacular three-mile trail is great way to view NH’s enchanting winter wilderness.

Day 4: Nordic Skiing
